April 15, 2015

The first conversation was held on April 15 at 12 pm ET with Dr. Brian Wong of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre about a study he conducted to help improve safety in acute care for elderly patients entitled “Promoting Real-time Improvements in Safety for the Elderly (PRISE).”  He and co-investigator Dr. Kaveh Shojania, also of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, directly engaged providers to galvanize them to participate in subsequent “real-time” quality improvement initiatives. Dr. Wong will talk about the successes and challenges of the study, and offer his personal insights about what he would suggest to improve patient safety based on his research.
