​​​Dr. Diane Doran, professor at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto, and co-lead Dr. Régis Blais, professor at the Department of Health Administration at the University of Montreal, and their team are the successful recipients of $1 million in research funding to help answer this question. Including the team’s co-sponsoring funds from provincial governments and other organizations, the total project budget is $1,369,860.

 

To help identify the scope of the patient safety challenge in home care, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute has partnered with other sponsoring organizations, including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Institute of Health Services and Policy Research, Institute of Aging, Institute of Musculoskeletal Health and Arthritis and Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health; The Change Foundation; and the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation. These organizations are committed to supporting research that generates new knowledge and that contributes to improving the safety of home care services.
