Effective partnerships with patients/ families to accelerate patient safety, quality and health service planning are being recognized as a best practice and in response to this, new initiatives, standards, policies, evidence and resources are being routinely developed across Canada and internationally. However, this is still an evolving field within healthcare, requiring much learning and collaboration to advance.
The Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) is acutely aware of both the needs and challenges because of the decade-long partnership with patients/families, through
Patients for Patient Safety Canada (PFPSC).
