Section 1:  A Survey of Canadian Healthcare Workers

We asked healthcare workers to complete a pan-Canadian survey to determine what supports they needed and where the gaps were across Canada.

This section of the guideline presents their views on the experience of a patient safety incident and the support they need. The survey was conducted in partnership with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

Self-identifying frontline healthcare workers who responded to this survey worked in a range of disciplines. They were dietitians, medical laboratory technologists, medical radiation technologists, nurses, occupational therapists, paramedics, pharmacists, physical therapists, physicians, respiratory therapists and others.
