Everyone at the Canadian Patient Safety Institute is still buzzing over the announcement that Chris Power is stepping in as CPSI’s new CEO.

And if the external reaction we’ve been hearing so far is any indication, we’re not alone in our excitement.

Of course, her accomplishments and accolades have been well-documented since news broke that she would be taking over the reigns from out-going CEO Hugh MacLeod. There is no doubt that she is more than qualified to lead CPSI into the future.

Chris becomes the fourth CEO in CPSI history, following Hugh, Phil Hassen and Don Schurman. Unlike her predecessors, Chris brings front-line experience to the CEO office, and with it, an invaluable perspective to the work that CPSI does. This seems like a perfect fit for where we are now in our patient safety improvement journey.

Chris’ first official day on the job will be March 2, 2015. Until then, former CPSI board chair Maura Davies will be acting CEO.

Welcome to CPSI, Chris. We look forward to accomplishing great things together!
