​Dr. Bruce MacLeod is a practicing Emergency Physician in Calgary who has been a leader in patient safety for many years.  He has a special interest in learning about disclosure and has participated in and led many disclosure initiatives.  Bruce co-chaired multidisciplinary teams which included patients in developing disclosure policy and procedure documents for the Calgary Health Region in 2005 and Alberta Health Services in 2011.  He is a master trainer in Disclosure for the Institute for Healthcare Communication, having helped teach about disclosure in several provinces and states.  Bruce has helped in consultation when difficult disclosure decisions arise, and has helped to coach and prepare individuals and teams for difficult disclosure conversations.  He has also participated in research evaluating the rollout of a culture of disclosure.
