Module 2: Team Structure
Module 2 reviews the definition of a team, the structure of teams, and the importance of involving the patient as part of the healthcare team. In healthcare, multiple teams are involved in patient care within a multi-team system. This module breaks down the roles and responsibilities of each team in a multi-team system, including the core team, contingency team, coordinating team, ancillary and support services, and administration. A team structure video is shared to consider how the lack of team structure plays a role in the given scenario.
After completing this module, you will be able to:
- Discuss benefits of teamwork and team structure
- Define a "team"
- Identify role of patients and their families as part of the care team
- Describe the components and composition of a multi-team system
