Use Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety
TeamSTEPPS Canada™, developed by the United States Department of Defense and the
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, improves safety and transforms culture in healthcare through better teamwork, communication, leadership, situational awareness, and mutual support. TeamSTEPPS Canada™ is an evidence-based teamwork system that optimizes patient care by improving communication and teamwork skills among healthcare professionals, including frontline staff. It includes a comprehensive set of ready-to-use materials and a training curriculum to integrate teamwork principles into a variety of settings.
Patient safety experts agree that effective teamwork skills are essential for safe, quality healthcare that prevents and mitigates harm. CPSI will help Canadian teams implement TeamSTEPPS Canada™ modules and content to address patient safety challenges. You will connect with a growing Canadian TeamSTEPPS Canada™ community, and learn from international TeamSTEPPS Canada™ colleagues.
A TeamSTEPPS Canada™ Master Training course is coming to the Vancouver area in February 2019! This course will help you to improve team collaboration, clinical outcomes and patient safety at your organization. Learn about the TeamSTEPPS® tools – what they are and how to use them – so that you can make a difference in your workplace.
This course is facilitated by national faculty from the Health Quality Council of Alberta and the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, among others. Throughout the course, faculty will share their practical strategies, real-life experiences, and lessons learned in an interprofessional and simulation-filled learning environment.
Everyone interested in improving teamwork and communications can register – the course is designed for both clinical and non-clinical staff. Reserve your spot today!
