Senior Director, Communications and Marketing
Graeme Wilkes leads efforts to raise awareness of the organization’s mission, programs, and
achievements in fostering safe, high quality healthcare across Canada. For more than 20 years
he has helped pan-Canadian not-for-profit and public sector organizations grow and expand
their impact through communications with the public, their members, the media, governments
and other stakeholders.
Before joining CFHI, Graeme worked at the Canadian Medical Association, where he led
advocacy initiatives and managed CMA's relationships with other national medical
organizations including the Wait Time Alliance - a coalition of CMA and 13 other national
medical organizations dedicated to eliminating unnecessary waits for care. He has also worked
in communications and government relations capacities for the Canadian Healthcare
Association and the Government of Canada.
Graeme enjoys helping people and organizations tell their stories in ways that improve public
policy. A graduate of Carleton University's Mass Communication program, Graeme is fluent in
both French and English. In his spare time, he has volunteered for organizations promoting
literacy for at-risk children and international public health.
