The Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) was established as the result of a rallying cry. Dedicated individuals working within the healthcare system simply couldn't experience one more incident of a patient getting harmed.
This year, we are seeking one prospective Board Member to join us in this mission!
In terms of mortality, patient safety incidents rank third in Canada behind cancer and heart disease with just under 28,000 deaths every year. This is equivalent to an incident occurring every 1 minute and 18 seconds, and a resulting death every 13 minutes and 14 seconds. This level of harm is simply unacceptable, and we need your help.
On behalf of the Nominating Committee of CPSI Board of Directors, we are recruiting the next Board Member who can help us achieve the changes our healthcare system so desperately requires. Are you impassioned by the idea of being champions for patient safety across the country? Do you yearn to connect with the industry leaders serving on the CPSI Board? Will you feel rewarded by the kind of progress we have enjoyed in making our healthcare system safer for all Canadians?
Of course, we always welcome Directors with experience in raising awareness, growing stakeholder connections, and building grass-roots campaigns. The CPSI Board would be well served by those with skills in entrepreneurship, technological innovation, business development, and both political outreach experience or political connections.
CPSI values the diversity of the population we serve, and welcomes applicants from a diverse range of perspectives, beliefs and backgrounds. The CPSI Board meets quarterly across Canada, and CPSI pays travel costs and an honorarium for meeting attendance.
Nominations are due by May 31, 2019. Please download the following form, fill it out and submit it by email, fax or mail to:
