These one-hour webinars provide insight from experts in the field and an open line forum where you can ask questions.

A Novel Tool to Assess the Quality of Admission MedRec Processes – the MedRec national call will take place on Tuesday, June 18th. Jennifer Turple, Medication Specialist, Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada (ISMP Canada) will outline the need for improved processes for MedRec  on admission and Alex Titu from the Safer Healthcare Now! Central Measurement team will introduce a tool to collect patient level data on admission that addresses MedRec quality determinants in acute and long-term care.

Falls Prevention/ Injury Reduction Getting Started Kit – on Tuesday, June 25th, Dr. Fabio Feldman, Manager, Seniors Falls and Injury Prevention (Fraser Health) and Dr. Vicky Scott, Senior Advisor, Fall and Injury Prevention (British Columbia Ministry of Health) will discuss what’s new in the Falls Prevention and Injury Reduction Getting Started Kit, including fall risk factors, screening tools and success measures for a falls prevention and injury reduction program.

Cuts Like a New Knife - Current Practice and Emerging Evidence in Preventing SSI – On Thursday,  June 27th, a presentation on how to prevent surgical site infections, current practice and emerging evidence will be led by Dr. Claude LaFlamme, Director of Cardiac Anethesia/TEE (Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Sciences Centre), Dr. Giuseppe Papia, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Critical Care Medicine (Schulich Heart Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center) and Marlies van Dijk, Director, Clinical Improvement (British Columbia Patient Safety & Quality Council.
