Senior Program Manager
Carla Williams currently works as a Patient Safety Quality Lead with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute. Most recently she worked in the Quality and Risk Management Department as both the Accreditation Manager and Safer Healthcare Now leader for the Eastern Integrated Regional Health Authority in St. John's, Newfoundland. Eastern Health provides health care services across the full continuum for more than 290,000 people across 21,000 square kilometers.
Throughout her career, Carla has held various management positions in both the acute and long term care sectors including Clinical Supervisor, Resident Care Manager, and Director of Care.
Carla is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Memorial University, and a Master of Health Services Management from Charles Sturt University (Australia). She also holds a certificate in gerontological nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association.
Carla is past president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Gerontological Nurses Association (NLGNA) and has served on various committees with the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (ARNNL).
Carla is also a Master Facilitator with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute's national Patient Safety Education Project.
