Effective September 1, 2015, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute and Safer Healthcare Now! have discontinued the Acute Myocardial Infarction intervention. You can still find the Getting Started Kit online, but it will no longer be kept up to date. PS Metrics will continue to support any teams who wish to submit improvement data.

Teams are welcome to consult with the Cardiac Care Network of Ontario www.ccn.on.ca for current and comprehensive resources supporting cardiac care.

If you have any questions, please contact info@cpsi-icsp.ca.

AMI is a sudden loss of blood supply to an area of the heart, causing permanent heart damage or death. There are different types of AMI, classified by the location of the actual event in the heart (e.g., inferior wall vs. anterior wall) or the type of changes seen on an electrocardiogram (ST elevation or non-ST elevation).
