Patient Safety Improvement Lead
In her current role, Gina is a Patient Safety Improvement Lead on the Safety Improvement and Capability Building team. Gina brings many years of experience as a Nurse and Process Improvement Practitioner who is passionate about evidence-based practice and an advocate for vulnerable populations.
Prior to joining CPSI, Gina worked as Quality Improvement Specialist for 8 years with Health Quality Ontario in diverse Ministry Funded Initiatives.
Gina's past clinical work experience includes acute care specialty clinical areas of ICU/CCU, Hemodialysis, Post Anaesthetic and work as a Geriatric Nurse Clinician. She has worked as a Nursing Program Instructor, Regional Diabetes Educator, and RNAO Best Practice Coordinator. Her senior Leadership roles include Director of Care, Administrator, and Corporate Director of Quality and Compliance Performance Improvement.
Gina has a Masters degree in Nursing (Education and Leadership Stream) and Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt. Gina has played an active role in numerous quality and risk committees and served on many advisory groups including College of Nurses of Ontario Long Term Care Advisory. Gina is a past recipient of the Dorothy Doyle Leadership Award.
Gina had been a co-author of a series of Implementation Science articles in Long Term Care Journal, has extensive experience in curriculum design, development of learning collaboratives, key performance indicator design, and consultative coaching for measurement and evaluation of process improvement projects.
When Gina is not busy with patient safety and quality improvement, she is in her alpaca barn spending time with her hobby farm animals and working on fibre arts where she resides in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
