Event Analysis Round Table - March 3, 2010, Vancouver, BC, Canada
On March 3, 2010, the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI), the Institute for Safe Medication Practices Canada, Saskatchewan Health and Groupe Vigilance in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), hosted a one day Event Analysis Roundtable session in Vancouver, BC. This collaborative learning experience connected national and international experts in event analysis and afforded an opportunity for sharing of the various models and approaches for analysis of complex systems and to dialogue on contexts in which the different models can be applied.
This document summarizes the shared knowledge and the content of some of the dialogue that took place. Part 1 provides an overview of the brief presentations by experts in event analysis which was followed by an open forum discussion. Part 2 reflects what was captured during multiple dialogues around several topics using a modified “World Café” methodology.
