The Operating Grant Priority Announcement: Patient Safety award offers funding up to $200,000 for projects lasting up to two years to teams interested in conducting applied health services research focused on improving patient safety in Canadian jurisdictions through one of the following topic areas:
Misdiagnosis in healthcare
Disclosure of patient safety incidents
Outcomes research in patient simulation
Evaluation of the effectiveness of patient safety improvement tools such as root cause analysis
Identification, prevention, or mitigation of patient safety incidents in primary care
Improvement in patient safety through:
Use of human factors
Interprofessional education
Innovative interventions or technologies where little information is currently available
Education programs and practices
Effective ways to develop a culture of safety in healthcare organizations
