March 2008 - CPSI launches the Patient Simulation Needs Assessment: a national survey of simulation and education stakeholders to determine the feasibility, roles and activities for a pan-Canadian coordinating body for simulation efforts.

March 2008 - CPSI hosts a simulation Consensus Meeting in Toronto, Ontario with representatives from Canadian simulation centres, professional colleges and educational institutions.  The overall goal of the meeting is to increase patient safety by integrating simulation into the core curricula for health providers' training and to use simulation to facilitate interprofessional learning and systems change.

May 2008 - CPSI announces a follow-up meeting to the Consensus Meeting, scheduled for September 24, 2008 in Ottawa, Ontario.

  

September 24, 2008 – CPSI hosts the Canadian Network for Simulation in Healthcare meeting in Ottawa, Ontario with representatives from Canadian simulation centres, professional colleges and educational institutions. The purpose of the meeting is to review and endorse the Business Plan for the national network, determine next steps and priorities for the network, as well as receive progress updates from each of the Working Groups.

September 25, 2008 - CPSI is pleased to sponsor The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's first Simulation Summit, a pre-conference event to the new International Conference on Residency Education (ICRE), to be held on September 25-27, 2008, in Ottawa. Explore how leaders in health care education are using new technologies to enhance their postgraduate medical education programs. Through workshops, poster, paper and plenary sessions, this interprofessional learning forum will enable you to leverage the skills, experience and creative thinking of our dynamic team of presenters.

  

March 18, 2009 – The Steering Committee for the Canadian Network for Simulation in Healthcare has their premiere face to face meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to create a roadmap for operationalising the Business Plan for the national network.
