The Executive Patient Safety Series (EPSS) is an essential healthcare safety educational opportunity for senior leaders to make patient safety an organizational priority. The purpose of the EPSS is to gather senior executives and board members from health-care organizations and institutions along with their peers and, through experiential learning and interactive sessions, enable them to acquire knowledge on the methods to:

• bring about cultural change in their organization;
• gain an understanding of their responsibilities and opportunities to improve patient safety at the board/executive level; and,
• gain the knowledge, strategies and patient safety tools and practices to position and advance patient safety as an integral part of their organization.

Three sessions have been offered to date:

Series 1: Kananaskis, Alberta June 8 - 9, 2006
Series 2: Halifax, Nova Scotia November 14 - 15, 2006
Series 3: Toronto, Ontario February 27 - March 1, 2007
