Senior Regional Director, Atlantic Provinces,
Theresa Fillatre is senior regional director for CPSI in the Atlantic provinces as well as national lead for Safer Healthcare Now! Theresa values investing in staff as people, maintaining a clear customer focus, and using quality improvement methodologies and tools in all aspects of health systems leadership, accountability, and service delivery.
Theresa is a registered nurse graduate of St. Boniface School of Nursing in Winnipeg and holds a bachelor of social work degree from the Maritime School of Social Work, a master’s degree in health services administration from Dalhousie University, and a CHE designation from the Canadian College of Health Service Executives. She has also held board positions with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia, is an adjunct professor with Dalhousie University School of Nursing, holds membership in the International Nursing Honor Society, and is a surveyor for Accreditation Canada, both nationally and internationally.
Throughout her 40-year career, Theresa has held a broad range of clinical and senior leadership positions within the mental health, public health, acute care, and long-term care sectors. She served as faculty for Canada's inaugural Patient Safety Officer Program and as a member of the CPSI Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Canadian Patient Safety Competencies Working Group.
Theresa holds national board positions with the Canadian Nurses Protective Society and the Canadian College of Health Service Executives. She has been the Atlantic Canada Leader for Safer Healthcare Now! since it began in 2005.
