Project Manager
Sandi Kossey is a project manager with CPSI. She is focused on leading innovative national initiatives to expand patient safety concepts and knowledge to areas outside of acute care settings, including home care, long-term care, mental health, emergency medical services, and primary care. She was responsible for developing CPSI’s Effective Governance for Quality and Patient Safety Toolkit. Sandi currently provides support to Safer Healthcare Now!
Prior to joining CPSI in 2007, Sandi was senior manager of the group relations and workplace and organizational health divisions with a not-for-profit health and welfare trust. She is currently completing her master’s degree in health studies leadership while teaching patient safety curricula to graduate students at the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, University of Alberta.
Sandi’s background is in rehabilitation medicine, and she was a practicing physiotherapist for several years in the areas of internal medicine, geriatrics, and nephrology in both clinical and supervisory roles. She has provided project management and leadership support in occupational health and safety for a large health organization, as well as regional and provincial health service planning and delivery across the continuum.
Sandi is on maternity leave and will be returning in January 2012.
