Project Manager
Abigail Hain participates in CPSI’s educational strategy. A former educator in a tertiary acute care hospital in Canada, Abigail understands the complexities clinicians face in their daily work and is passionate about finding ways to support clinicians, patients, and families in the move toward a safer health care system.
Abigail joins CPSI with a 22-year clinical nursing background. Her training includes 15 years of specialization in critical care nursing, initially as a nursing officer with the Canadian Armed Forces. She completed her certification in critical care nursing in 1999, and in 2007 completed a master of science degree in nursing at the University of Ottawa. Abigail’s thesis work focused on how critical care nurses influence the patient’s experience by providing a human connection beyond the technology of the intensive care unit.
In her role as a critical care clinical nurse educator at The Ottawa Hospital in the 10 years before joining CPSI, she was involved in quality and patient safety work. She completed a Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship with the Health Research and Education Trust of the American Hospital Association in 2009.
