Micheline Ste-Marie, MD

Dr. Micheline Ste-Marie is a pediatric gastroenterologist who has practiced at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université Laval in Québec and the IWK Hospital for Children in Halifax. She now works at The Montreal Children’s Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre where she holds the position of Associate Director, Professional Services.  She is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University.  She chairs le Groupe VIGILANCE pour la sécurité des soins, a permanent group advising the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services on matters of patient safety. She has been the instigator of many provincial interdisciplinary training initiatives on safety of care.  In addition to suggesting innovative projects and overseeing their implementation, she participated in developing the content of several programs and has served as an instructor. Her outstanding qualities as a communicator were highlighted by participants.  She is actively involved in several community groups, serving on the board of directors of Opération Enfant Soleil and of Le Phare Enfants et Familles.​
