Advisory Committees

The Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI) envisions a Canadian health system where patients, providers, governments and others work together to build and advance a safer health system; where providers take pride in their ability to deliver the safest and highest quality of care possible; and where every Canadian in need of healthcare can be confident that the care they receive is the safest in the world.

In working towards this broad vision for Canada’s health system, CPSI provides national leadership in building and advancing a safer Canadian health system, bringing together experts from across Canada to form the Advisory Committees. These committees will advise CPSI on strategic initiatives in the following areas:

The term of service for committee members will be three years, with the possibility of extension. The majority of committee meetings will be conducted via teleconference or videoconference. Committee members are appointed by CPSI CEO, Phil Hassen.

The membership of the committees is composed to reflect a variety of patient safety expertise, including clinical, academic, and professional development practitioners from across Canada. Members will be chosen for their knowledge, and not as representatives of the organizations with which they are affiliated.  Committee membership may include public representation.
